GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS -- Faulty mercury vapor lightbulbs caused an epidemic of facial and eyelid dermatitis in the small town of Aberdeen, S.D., Dr. Ty Hanson reported at the Caribbean Dermatology Symposium.
"You can be 9 meters or more away from a broken light and still get burned," said Dr. Hanson of Ohio State University, Columbus.
