THE opening of the first phase of the Seoul-Busan high-speed line to Daegu on April 1 2004 has certainly made its mark on Korea's most important transport corridor. After just one year of operation rail has ousted air as the market leader, demonstrating yet again high-speed rail's ability to win traffic from other modes.
