The Economist of January 27 reported that the cost of upgrading the electrical service will take four years and cost R97 billion.
No one seems to have thought about an alternative power source available across our borders. On the Zambezi River there is the Kariba Dam with six turbo generators on the North Bank Hydro, capable of producing 900 000 kilowatts, and six turbo generators on the South bank Hydro, capable of producing 600 000kW.
