An analysis of the problem of language coordination in Ghana suggests that many of the theories surrounding the Tower of Babel curse are not applicable in the real world. Ghana, which is multilingual, could not successfully implement a single-language policy through a lottery or any other one-step process. A gradual increase in the teaching of English and a state-sponsored renaissance of Ghanian usage is a combination likely to produce a multilingual society with a shared language base that allows for cross-cultural communication within the country.
