FITCHBURG - Giving an I-can't-believe-this eye-roll with her arms crossed in front of her, sixth-grader Abigail Velazquez talks up a storm with her body language and long sighs, as two other students welcome her and Paul Felton to peer mediation.

Paul, also a sixth-grader at Fitchburg Arts Academy, joins in with his own signs of impatience and frustration.

And when mediator Kiana Whitfield asks her fellow students whether they have any questions, Abigail jumps right in.

"Why am I here?" Abigail asks. "I didn't do anything. He did everything!" ...
