WORCESTER - Milton Skerrett heard the news and was soon at the elevator, preparing for his return home after 10 days in a hotel.
"It's been a long time," Mr. Skerrett, 22, said. "It's been good, but nothing like home."
He and others staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott since they were displaced by a fire Dec. 27 at the Plumley Village East Housing complex were told yesterday that repairs were made and they could return home. A bus would pick them up at 1 p.m.
