WORCESTER - Marie N. Wyman only wanted to do one thing when she went inside her eighth-floor apartment in the Plumley Village East.

"I'm just going to get my bed made and my house in order," she said outside the 16 Laurel St. building yesterday, a partially scratched lottery ticket in her hand. "I'm just happy to be home."

City inspectors cleared the first eight floors of the building to open yesterday after a three-alarm fire early Wednesday forced all the residents of the 120-unit building to evacuate. That allowed 82 families to move back ...
