Gary Larson, creator of 'The Far Side' cartoons, has announced his retirement as of Jan 1, 1995, after a brilliant, but comparatively short, career. Larson has made use of a variety of both human and animal characters, along with a variety of subject matter.

On January 1, 1995, Gary Larson hangs up his sketch pad, which means the end of the universe as Larson has successfully managed to reconstruct it over the past decade and a half.
