Mar. 10--Meredith Alexis, who rewrote the James Madison University record books this season, was named the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball Player of the Year.
The former Bishop Hoban standout learned about the award during a team banquet this week.
"They had a video screen up," she said. "When the JMU logo came up, I knew I had won. I might have screamed or something -- I was so excited."
Her teammates shared her joy.
"They all jumped up and were all clapping and screaming," Alexis said. ...
