Aldus Corp's $49.95 Art Explorer 1.0 and Davidson & Associates' $40 Flying Colors are two painting and drawing programs intended for children. Flying Colors is the better of the two because overall because it is more efficient and uses stamps and color cycling well, but its art style is annoyingly formal. There are 11 basic scenes to choose from and more than 1,000 well-drawn stamps. Pixels can be set to change color through a series of shades to give the appearance of motion.
