The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is coming up with a master plan on Integrated River Basin Management and Development which envisions a sustainable water resource for domestic supply, irrigation, recreation, and hydropower generation.

Four principal programs will be covered by the master plan on sustained river basin ecosystem management. These are integrated water resources management, integrated watershed management, wetland management, and flood mitigation.
