To the editor:

At first glance, Nick Mount's review of Dr. Delicious: Memoirs of a Life in CanLit ("Memoirs of a Publishing Pimp," September 2006) seems mainly devoted to laying out the book's contents and summarizing my career; it offers very little in the way of analysis. But if one looks a little closer, "the problem" emerges. Mount is upset by the fact that as a publisher I was also a businessman concerned with "the getting and spending of money."
