Here we go again. Add Worcester Democrat Robert P. Spellane's name to the list of Beacon Hill denizens who fail to grasp the difference between "campaign contributions" and a "slush fund."

The state Office of Campaign and Political Finance has hit the West Side lawmaker with a $10,000 "civil forfeiture" for illegally borrowing from his campaign stash to pay personal expenses totaling about $50,000, $32,500 of which was not repaid until after the finance office was conducting its investigation. The borrowing was not itemized in his campaign filings, ...
