Citizen initiatives. (panel discussion with Grover Norquist, Dick Woodward and Rick Arnold on citizen-sponsored ballot initiatives) (Interview)

From: Campaigns & Elections | Date: May 1, 1994 | Copyright information

Direct democracy advocate Grover Norquist and campaign experts Dick Woodward and Rick Arnold present their views on the direct democracy movement, which uses citizen-sponsored initiatives. Generally, they see the direct democracy movement expanding, especially in the areas of tax spending, property rights, parental rights and elimination of special racial preferences. The role of the media in this movement depends on on-site factors. Legislators usually try to hinder the direct democracy movement.
