WASHINGTON -- Despite a 3-year-old federal effort to boost use of gasohol in government vehicles, several factors including price have resulted in only modest success for the program, a General Accounting Office (GAO) study says.
Those factors include gasohol's uncompetitive price compared with gasoline, its limited availability in some areas and its high cost of production, transportation and storage, the GAO said in a new report.
