The U.S. Census Bureau reports that there are fewer than 2 million farms in the U.S., the fewest since 1850. But despite the low number, 1992's total crop was worth a record $163 billion.
Between the years 1987 and 1992, Black farms decreased by a little more than 4,000, Census Bureau reports indicate.
