Feb. 24--Nothing if not adaptable, Clete Hinton has been a plasterer, fire-fighting engineer, evangelist, news reporter and historian. That was then. Today he's a poet, the only poet I know who's written a tribute to swamp coolers. Hinton, who turns 82 next month, was born in Bensenville, Ill., a railroad town just outside Chicago.
