Alan Tonelson has written a provocative but premature obituary to international human rights. He asserts that the tragedies in Bosnia, Somalia, and Haiti prove that it is no longer useful or productive for the U.S. government to challenge state-sponsored murder and torture in other countries and to emphasize human rights as an element of its foreign policy.
