RTE sporting legend Bill O'Herlihy has admitted he never realised he used the catch phrase "okey doke" until wacky comedians Apres Match hi-jacked it.

But now, after more than 40 years on television, Bill and his own little ways have become a well-loved sensation with the nation.

Last week he was voted Personality Of The Year at the Irish Film and Television Awards - not bad for a man who never shied away from our screens in the first place.
