Feb. 16--Woodrow Shane Riddle, 36, will spend 11 to 14 years in prison for shooting his stepfather to death April 9 in the home where both resided at 124 Walnut Road in Waynesville. Riddle pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder, a charge that could have earned him more than 36 years in prison, according to Superior Court Judge J. Marlene Hyatt who imposed the sentence. At the request of Defense Attorney Reid Brown, Judge Hyatt agreed to sentence Riddle within a mitigated range, which reduced the sentence nearly by half. Cited ...
