Feb. 16--In "Longford" (7 p.m. Saturday, HBO), Peter Morgan, the writer of the acclaimed films "The Queen" and "The Last King of Scotland," has given us a masterful meditation on the nature and meaning of forgiveness.
Can a murderer be forgiven? Does an idealistic old man need to seek forgiveness for asking that a convicted murderer be treated fairly, within the confines of the legal system?
