Uranium merger could generate $5bn company.(Business Report)

Johannesburg - sxr Uranium One will take over larger rival UrAsia Energy to form the world's second-largest listed uranium mining company at a time of record uranium prices.

The $5 billion (R36 billion) company, Uranium one, will be 60 percent held by UrAsia Energy shareholders; sxr Uranium One investors will own the rest.

Jean Nortier, the chief financial officer of Toronto- and Johannesburg-listed sxr Uranium One, said the new firm would consider listing on the London Stock Exchange or its Alternative Investment Market.
