WebRider 2.0 is an integrated approach to acceleration that expands the traditional one-sided application delivery controller (ADC) concept, consolidates the functionality of two-sided WAN optimization controllers (WOC), and embraces the new application paradigms of service-oriented architectures and Ajax development methodologies. WebRider's two-sided hardware appliance and software plug-in approach provides acceleration regardless of where the transaction is initiated. The client software is easily deployed and provides functionality that traditional one-sided ADCs cannot. The client software functions between the SOA/Ajax client and the network, providing acceleration for the growing amount of data and management of potentially expensive TCP session processing. The appliance implementation consolidates ADC and WOC functionality with transaction routing, threat management and XML processing to reduce the overload on Web servers and to provide a single point of management for the critical network control functions.--Stampede Technologies
