Jan. 28--Tessie Sarmiento won't soon forget the day she found several newborn black and white puppies. "I just remember it being so, so cold," Sarmiento said about the day the day Chula, a mixed breed dog, gave birth to the puppies. "I went back to check on her and she had her babies." The puppies, so young that their eyelids are still closed, will remain with their mother until they start eating on their own, which will be in about six to eight weeks.
