Jan. 28--Shortly after he picked up his number for today's ING Miami Marathon, Michael Cowen was already planning for the next race on his calendar.

"Right now I'm looking at Big Sur, Calif.," the 32-year-old postal worker from Massachusetts said Friday as he walked the sprawling registration expo in Miami Beach. "And there's one in Frederick, Md."
