OUTSPOKEN TD Jim McDaid was hailed a hero yesterday - after he dived half-naked into a flooded ditch to save a SHEEP during a round of golf.

The controversial deputy then had to be rescued himself by his golf partner after nearly drowning during the baa-zarre rescue.

The incident happened while the golfmad former Minister was playing at his local club in Donegal last week.

Jim hit a wayward shot on the fourth hole at Letterkenny Golf Club so his playing partner and long-time pal Paddy Carberry went to look for the ball.
