With larger portions, people fail to judge calories in fast-food.(Brief article)

Portion sizes have ballooned over the past 20 years, and people have gotten so used to them that they tend to underestimate how many calories they consume in large-sized fast-food meals, according to a study in the September 5, 2006 Annals of Internal Medicine. There were two components to the study. Researchers first asked 105 people to estimate the calories they'd just eaten in fast-food restaurants in three Midwestern cities.
