What's the hottest spot in the Big Apple? Forget the Statue of Liberty. Forget the Empire State Building.
Head uptown, to Harlem.
The Manhattan neighborhood begins somewhere between 90th and 110th Street, depending on who is asked, and extends north to to 168th Street, between the Harlem and Hudson rivers. It has been in past decades a section known for its poverty and high crime rate.
It is also, however, home to some legendary historical and cultural sites.
