Jan. 25--Royal palm trees and black olives lining Southwest 104th Street across from the Caravel neighborhood in West Kendall are now being removed to prepare for widening the road. Possibly as soon as two weeks, some lanes will temporarily closed, too, when construction begins to widen to six lanes the thoroughfare between Southwest 137th and 147th avenues -- in an attempt to alleviate the bottleneck at the intersections.
