After rejecting two tentative agreements, members of the Rubber Workers approved a 3-year master contract covering some 12,200 workers at nine Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. plants in Ohio, Alabama, Nebraska, Kansas, Virginia, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. The union intends to use the Goodyear pact as a pattern for other settlements in the rubber industry over the next 3 years.
