Jan. 22--On Jan. 30, Microsoft will release Vista, the first significant upgrade to the world's dominant computer operating system.

For those who want to know more about that product and whether it's worth the price, we've scoured the Web and found a handful of sites with advice and guidelines. Later this week, Microsoft will host a launch event in downtown Spokane to give area customers a preview of Vista's features.
