LOS GATOS, Calif. _ Balancing the 27-foot, 35-pound rowing shell upside-down on his head like a hat, Harry Lesch carries oars in his free hand as he makes his morning jaunt down the steep banks of Lexington Reservoir.
Moments later, as a great blue heron takes flight, Lesch pulls on the oars and the scull skims the glassy surface like a graceful water bug.
