ALBANY - State parole officers are demanding the resignation of their agency's director amid allegations that their ability to lock up dangerous felons has been thwarted by burdensome paperwork and an alleged warrant quota system.
"It is a disgrace what this administration has done," said Manuelita Clemente, council leader of the union representing the state's 1,100 parole officers. "They don't let us do our job. They are pulling warrants. ... We want the public to know we're not going to stand for this crap."
