Jan. 13--Elkhorn residents will judge new leadership on how well Omaha plows their streets, protects their neighborhoods and provides other basic city services. Omaha's judgment day could come as early as Jan. 22 when, barring an Elkhorn appeal, the city could absorb Elkhorn and several subdivisions. Omaha leaders, saying they are ready for an immediate transition, detailed some of their plans Friday.
