The port city's continued political, social and economic deterioration threatens the wellbeing of the entire country. Bad government and low investment has resulted in high unemployment. The rich flock to better neighborhoods while the poor riot.
"OUR beloved city of Karachi is dying," mourns an advertisement by the Committee for Citizen's Welfare in the city's leading newspaper, "please hurry and register with us, or else the deluge."
