Manchu Wok and Panda Express are the top two Chinese fast-food restaurant chains in the US. Panda Management Company Inc. has 140 units in malls and food-courts and reported sales of $90 million in 1993. Manchu Wok had sales over $100 million in 1993 and operates 275 units. Manchu Wok plans to continue to expand the number of units, including free-standing units. Manchu Wok also is considering alternative formats for its outlets, such as railroad terminals and portable carts.
