NO BORDERS IN FELONY MURDER, COURT SAYS.(CAPITAL REGION)

ALBANY -- Handing a major victory to prosecutors, New York's highest court on Thursday upheld ``felony'' murder convictions in a crime that spanned two states.
The Court of Appeals ruled for the first time that when criminals commit a felony out of state that results in a death in New York, they can be convicted of murder. Until Thursday, the issue was unresolved.
Felony murder is charged when a death occurs during the commission of any of nine serious crimes, including robbery.
