Byline: BART JONES Staff writer HALFMOON In a way, the Korean War Veterans Memorial that will be dedicated July 27 in Washington, D.C., got its start at Shenendehowa High School.
A student named Virginia Norris was assigned to write a term paper on the war. But she couldn't find any books on the subject. So she decided to interview her father, William, who had fought in Korea.
The experience galvanized the Halfmoon resident and former 27th Infantry Division sergeant, who had long felt Korea was America's ``forgotten war.''
