ALBANY Walk out of any door at the University at Albany uptown campus and you pause to plan your next step: ``It all looks the same,'' said one student.

To understand the stylings of the 30-year-old campus you have to understand the mind of Edward Durell Stone, the campus' architect, said Stanley M. Torkelsen, a close Stone associate on the project.

``Keep it simple, paint it white and put a garden in it,'' said Torkelsen of the late Stone's style.
