COHOES William A. Irvine, 85, of Berkley Avenue died Wednesday at home after a brief illness.

He was born in Killmancrenan, County Donegal, Ireland, and immigrated to this country in 1926. He lived in Cohoes for 52 years.

Mr. Irvine was a tool and die maker for the General Electric Co. for 31 years. He also worked at the Malta test station for aerospace engines and equipment. He retired in 1974.
