LA CROSSE, Wis. Julie Haydon, the actress who created the role of fragile Laura Wingfield in the original production of ``The Glass Menagerie'' by Tennessee Williams, died Saturday in La Crosse, Wis. She was 84.
The cause was abdominal cancer, said Patricia Angelin, the executor of the estate of George Jean Nathan. Miss Haydon was the widow of Nathan, a drama critic.
