Preschool children should be provided with motor skill instruction that is appropriate for their age. This is needed to ensure that a foundation is laid for their successful involvement in physical activities in later life. As such, physical education teachers should place an emphasis on the mastery of movement concepts and the development of basic skills such as jumping, balancing and striking.
