James J. Connolly, 90, retired postmaster of Catskill, died Saturday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital in Albany.

He was born in Passaic, N.J., and had lived in Catskill since graduating from high school.

Mr. Connolly was a Navy World War II veteran, serving with the Seabees 40th Construction Battalion, First Marine Division, in the South Pacific.

He previously was employed by Acme Cement, later North American, for 12 years and with Catskill Tire and Vulcanizing Works in sales and bookkeeping until 1939, when he was appointed ...
