The Tennessee Supreme Court issued a ruling a week ago concerning the fate of seven embryos frozen in a liquid nitrogen tank in a Knoxville fertility clinic. The opinion has important implications not only for the fate of the more than 22,000 embryos frozen at clinics around the nation but also for the national debate about abortion.
