ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN Monticello looks wonderfully disproportionate to its population of 8,116. Scores of new jobs and homes are arising in the Drew Count seat.
This marks a change for the better that comes on the heels of a time when the opposite was true.
A 40-unit Day's Inn motel recently was completed. Monticello is already home to a Wal-Mart Supercenter giving additional drawing power for trade.
