SIXTEEN-HOUR working days are not uncommon in the double life of Eddie Thomson, the Fairlie postman who is dedicated to following a dream that, one day, he will line up alongside Tiger Woods in The Open.

Thomson drags himself out of bed most days at 3.30am to start work at the nearby Largs sorting office an hour later.
