Kyodo News settles with Murakami Fund over report on Matsuzakaya.

Dec. 27--TOKYO -- Kyodo News reached a settlement Wednesday with M&A Consulting Inc., a core firm of a well-known Japanese investment fund, over a damages suit filed by the company seeking 100 million yen over an article concerning the Murakami Fund and major department-store chain operator Matsuzakaya.

In the settlement reached at the Tokyo District Court, Kyodo News said it has agreed to apologize for errors in the article it dispatched on Feb. 2. M&A Consulting filed the damages suit against the news agency in March claiming the article tarnished its reputation.
