Fall doesn't just mean "back to school" at Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Neb. It also signals the beginning of the open enrollment period for the school system's 5,000 benefits-eligible employees. Every fall (and again in the spring), Lincoln's employee benefits specialist Kyla Jensby is responsible for communicating benefits options to nine different employee groups, each with a separate negotiated agreement with its own menu of employer-supported benefits provided by nearly a dozen different carriers. "There are a lot of moving parts," says Jensby.
