Tips to prevent children suffering burn injuries.(News)

THE Friends of the Red Cross Children's Hospital Association is appealing to parents to prevent children from suffering burns this festive season, a high-risk period.
Thousands of children with severe burn injuries are admitted annually to the hospital.
Red Cross physiotherapy head, Asha Parbhoo, says most of the burns occur at home and affect a large proportion of children under five, an age group unable to fend for themselves.
Although burns are common, they can be prevented, said Parbhoo.
