While negotiating what is proving to be a long, difficult road to a championship fight, Tracy Patterson has vowed not to take any opponent lightly.

True to his word, Patterson, the adopted son of former heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson, made short work of Mexico's Vidal Tellez Monday night. Before a crowd of 2,142 at the Knickerbocker Arena, Patterson knocked out Tellez 55 seconds into the third round of their 129-pound fight, which was scheduled for 10 rounds.
